Intro to Robotics
A hands-on weekly robotics, engineering, and coding class for students in grades 3–6 at UP Robotics in Bethesda, MD.

Intro to Robotics gives students room to design, build, program, and troubleshoot more independently. Projects connect mechanical design with the code and sensors that let a robot perceive and respond to its environment.

Who thrives here
This is the broadest entry point for grades 3–6. It fits first-time students who are ready for 90-minute projects as well as Robot Explorers graduates seeking more independence. Students mainly interested in competition missions should compare the FLL Challenge Class.
Weekly schedule
Choose one recurring time during registration. The Friday section is the daytime option commonly used by homeschool families. Omnify shows current availability.

Frequently asked questions
Is prior LEGO robotics experience required?
No. Instructors teach the platform and adapt the challenge depth to the students in the group.
Is this only a coding class?
No. Students work across mechanical design, sensors, programming, testing, and problem-solving—the full robot system.
What comes next?
Students can move into the FLL Challenge Class or ask about a competition team when they are ready for a larger commitment.
