Q: What is UP Robotics?
UP Robotics is a youth robotics and coding enrichment program based in Bethesda, Maryland. We offer after-school classes, competitive robotics teams (FLL and FTC), summer camps, homeschool programs, and birthday parties for students in grades K–9. Our facility is located at 7801 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814.
Q: What ages and grades does UP Robotics serve?
We serve students in grades K–9 (approximately ages 5–15). Our programs are designed with different levels so every child finds the right fit, from our Robot Explorers program for grades K–2 all the way through advanced FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics for middle and high schoolers.
Classes & Programs
Q: What after-school robotics classes do you offer in Bethesda?
We offer Robot Explorers (grades K–2), Intro to Robotics (grades 3–5), FLL classes and competitive teams (grades 3–8), Python & Advanced Robotics (grades 6–9), and spring electives including Maritime Robotics and Advanced FLL. Classes meet weekly at our Bethesda location.
Q: Do you offer competitive robotics teams?
Yes! We field multiple FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams for grades 4–8 and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams for middle and high school students. We also filed VEX IQ teams. Our FLL teams include BrikBots, Foxbots, DinoBots, and Voltage Vipers. Our FTC teams are the Foxbots and Infinity Foxes.
Q: Do you have homeschool robotics programs?
Yes — we offer daytime robotics and STEM classes designed specifically for homeschool students in the Bethesda area. These run during school hours and give homeschoolers access to hands-on STEM learning in a social, collaborative setting.
Summer Camps
Q: Do you offer robotics summer camps near Bethesda?
Yes! UP Robotics runs robotics and STEM summer camps in Bethesda, MD throughout the summer. We offer half-day camps (9am–12pm and 1–4pm) for grades K–9. Themes include Robot Explorers, Intro to Robotics, Drone Flying, Python coding, and more. Camps run week-long sessions.
Q: How much do summer camps cost?
Summer camp tuition ranges from $475 to $695 per week depending on the camp. Registration opens in the spring and spots fill quickly.
Q: What ages are your summer camps for?
Our summer camps serve students in grades 1–9. Specific camps are designed for different grade ranges, so every student gets age-appropriate content and challenge level.
Enrollment & Pricing
Q: How much do after-school classes cost?
After-school class tuition is billed in 4-week increments: Robot Explorers (grades K–2) is $175 per 4 weeks. Most other classes are $250 per 4 weeks. Advanced Robotics / FTC is $275 per 4 weeks. Team prices are build separately.

Q: Where is UP Robotics located?
We are located at 7801 Woodmont Ave, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814 — in the heart of downtown Bethesda, convenient for families in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, and the greater Washington DC area.

When are classes held?
Classes typically run after school on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Are classes held during school holidays?
Yes, classes may still be held during some school vacations (for example, we remain open on President's Day).

Is there a sibling discount?
Yes, we offer a sibling discount for families with multiple children enrolled.

Rescheduling & Make-ups
What if my child has to miss a class?
We typically offer make-up classes during the same week as the missed session to ensure your child doesn't fall behind on lessons.
Can I reschedule for a different day?
Depending on staff availability and class capacity, we may be able to move a student to another time slot (e.g., moving from a Tuesday class to a Saturday class for a few weeks).

Cancellations & Refunds
What is your cancellation policy?
Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.
Do you offer refunds?
We can process refunds for future sessions if your child is unable to continue or if you decide the program is not the right fit.
How do you handle weather-related closures?
In the event of snow days or other emergency closures, we can adjust your billing cycle to extend the program or apply a credit toward the following month.

Birthday Parties​
Are your parties appropriate for 6-year-olds?
Yes! Our parties are designed for children aged 6–10. We use icon-based coding that does not require strong reading skills, making it accessible for younger engineers.
What is the cost and what is included?
The base cost is $450 for up to 10 children, plus $35 for each additional child. We provide two rooms: one for the robotics lesson and one for your food and cake celebration. 16 children max.
What is the party schedule?
Birthday slots are available on Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There are some limited Sunday slots available. We provide 30 minutes before the party for setup and 30 minutes after for cleanup.
Can the kids take home their projects?
Because our robot sets are reused for other students, children cannot take home the models they build during the party.

Field Trips & Summer Camps
Do you host school field trips?
Yes. We offer field trip experiences for groups of 10 or more students. Contact us for pricing and specifics.
When is summer camp registration?
Summer sessions are available, and you can register directly through our website.
Do you offer aftercare for summer camps?
Yes, we have aftercare options available for students remaining past the regular 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM camp hours.​

Street parking is available nearby, and there are several public parking garages within walking distance.
